Getting a computer to understand human ideas by teaching them to watch.

And here is a little (though profound) "show me" programming-by-demonstration project that allows kids(?) to build complex cellular automata programs without writing code. The program is called StageCast Creator and was developed by Allen Cypher and David Canfield Smith while they worked in the Advanced Technology Group at Apple Computer.
