Some of the video recordings we've made in the past year have been made available on the Syntience video site at http://videos.syntien... .

I'd love some feedback on them - both about content and production qualities. If you cannot get the videos to load properly, please report symptoms to me. If you want to debate the content with other group members, please start a new discussion on this Message Board. One discussion per video might work, but one per question might be better for highly specific questions.

More videos will be added over time as they get through postproduction. This is a time consuming process; I have prioritized videos of my own talks and other videos that I had special reasons to publish. There are over a dozen other videos in the queue.

If someone living close to Sunnyvale, CA knows Final Cut Pro or wishes to learn it, please volunteer to edit a couple of the videos in the queue. I'll be happy to share what I have learned about postproduction.

Monica,

Nice production value. But when I try to watch these videos from a wifi hotspot on my laptop… herky-jerky slide-show strobe-like. I wish there was a low(er) res option for people in less than ideal viewing situations. I don't think pixel fidelity matters as much as smooth frame rate. Especially if you made the slides available as PDF file. Just a suggestion.

Randall,

your wish is my command. The videos now have a "smaller" version posted also. Hope that works better. If there is demand I might render versions for iPods also but it would mean half an hour of setup and an overnight render for each.

We have a volunteer working on the postproduction of some videos from the backlog so expect more of these in a little while.

I may also post some discussion following some of the posted talks since half the fun is in the discussions.

Oh, I completely redesigned the http://videos.syntien... web page. Take a look :-)

I like this resource a lot!

I think a beneficial addition could be a way for viewers to leave comments relating to each video.

Since this is a thriving Meetup i'm guessing there will be many more videos. As time goes on it will be important to be able to sort through the videos to find what is needed.

I think Youtube style commentary would be good.

Tags would be great also!

I don't think this stuff can be created quickly, but it seems to me that these are good to throw on the to do list.

You can add commentaries by going to Vimeo. I may not have enabled the direct link to Vimeo on the videos but will change that in the future. or now, go to Vimeo.com and do a search on "syntience" to get the full list.
