Message boards, Videos, and a new site design

Meetup.com is beta testing a new site design which I have adopted for our meetup group; I also did some additional customizing. I hope you like it - I know I do.

I'd like to point out two lesser known resources available to our group. The first is the lively message board which you can reach through the Discussion pull-down menu at the top of the page. There are many interesting, highly competent and very active discussions there.

The second is our slowly growing collection of videos of past meetups. The new site design showcases one video (and I plan to rotate which video gets showcased every now and then) but you can see all of them by going to videos.syntience.com . They are hosted by Vimeo, which means you can also view them directly on vimeo.com by searching for videos tagged "syntience". Once you are on Vimeo (you can also get there by clicking on the Vimeo icon in the video itself) then you can vote for your favorite videos (hint, hint) and comment on them.

The selection of videos is currently biased towards videos featuring my own talks (I use these videos as a way to spread the word about the technologies we're developing in my company Syntience Inc.) but we have a growing volunteer group working on the videos in the postproduction queue. Sadly, we have only one computer with limited availability running Final Cut Pro. But over time I expect the video site to reflect the actual diversity of topics and speakers.
