The real organizing force for this meetup is actually the Society for New Communications Research (sncr.org). Empirical observation tells us that they vastly prefer to host presentations by members, particularly the senior fellows (especially authors and journalists) while they shy away from brand labels. The exceptions tend to occur when product and service owners are senior fellows, like Jeremiah Owyang or Tom Foremski.
