I thought to place the Ocean Beach bonfire at the conclusion of your hike. The noon start time for lunch is a best guess -- change it, please, if you plan to hike much more than a couple of hours.

It's also ok for the lunch picnic to already be going when the hike ends. So if you want to join the bonfire in order to preplan the hike's endpoint, just go ahead an specify a particular place on Ocean Beach for the bonfire people to congregate.

Hi Peter, this is one of our favorite hikes. There's a really cool section where you're going across a huge granite upthrust on the canyon wall of the Feather River. At the base of the hike at the river bed, it's full of granite boulders the size of VW's.

Thanks for adding me in for Sat. hike. Unfortunately I had no access to internet during the weekend so I didn't get the notification until this morning........Hope I'll be able to hike with this group next time.
