I am an AI researcher, futurist, cryonicist, and nanoTech follower. I approach AI from an Epistemological and Philosophy of Science angle, which is quite unusual and (I hope) brings a different flavor to a fraction of our MeetUps.
Director of Research at Syntience Inc., an AI research startup company in Silicon Valley. We are using Artificial Intuition, a so-called Connectome Algorithm, to create Understanding Machines. Connectome Algorithms are brain-inspired Model Free Methods; a core tenet of my theory is that Models (e.g. scientific models, theories, hypotheses, equations, formulas and computer programs) cannot be made of the domains where AI has to operate. The only alternative is to use so-called Model Free Methods. All of these are already used, mainly in the life sciences, but I'm likely the only one who has examined these methods as a group and determined that they alone are capable of performing "Automated Reduction", i.e. to create and use Models. In other words, if you want to build an AI, then you must restrict your algorithms to only use these Model Free Methods. This is a major paradigm shift in AI research; it has been underway for several years but we can now see exactly what path to follow.

Hi Monica,
I recently tried to find the video of my lecture on USTREAM but couldn't find it :(
There's one that's 4 seconds, however the main one was about two hours. I really hope it wasn't deleted it.
Do you still have it in your records somewhere?
Thanks
-Alex
Hi Monica,
Sorry you can't make it on Sunday, but keep us in mind for future bridge events. It sounds like you're our kind of bridge player. I'll let you know about the next game if you would send me your email address. Please send it to [masked].
Thanks.
Jim
Hi Monica,
I've started several AI groups related to Thrun & Norvig's Stanford's CS 221 open course http://www.meetup.com/NYCs-Stanford-A...![]()
. A friend gave me the vision to connect meetups so people traveling might have compelling meetups to go to. He's done a great job of securing terrific speakers and industry participants interested to support the meetings. Let me know if you'd care to brainstorm about cooperation.
Best & cheers,
Sean
After a short trip to the Bay Area I had to go back to Paris but had the chance to enjoy an AI meetup there. Now I see that you are starting to post live and recorded sessions more and more often and I just wanted to thank you for that. Im sure lots of people wished they could attend but can't and now they have easier and easier access to the content so thank you again for the organization overall and the broadcast in particular!
Hi Monica. You have some great experience. Perhaps we can chat at one of the monthly social mixer events. I'd like to hear more about your work. Welcome to the Emerging Artist Group! Joe.
Welcome! You used the word tempi, that says a lot
Monica, glad to see you on here. I spoke to you at Future Salon.
Enjoyed your Foresight talk on artificial intuition!
