Utility and Intelligence are two critical components of any sufficiently complicated system. Equations for Utility and models of intelligence can give an idea of how to describe an agent or an organism. Only when they are combined can they offer a predictive model of behavior. In biological organisms, utility and intelligence are related due to the nature of their evolution. Artificial Intelligences may evolve in drastically different ways from biological intelligences so their utilities may be unconnected to their intelligence which could lead to them to being unfriendly towards humans.
Robin Gane-McCalla is a young person who's very interested in Intelligence and Motivation. He's worked with a Harvard Psychology professor for the last year and learned a great deal about modeling the intelligence and motivation of biological organisms.
This was fun.
